is a design-led Australian architecture, urbanism, design and research practice based in Tbilisi, Georgia. We are the first foreign architecture firm to establish a permanent presence in the country, with full Architect-of-Record (AOR) capability.
At its core, the practice is supported by an interdisciplinary team of more than 30+ Georgian architects, urban planners, lawyers, design specialists and an anthropologist. The practice delivers architecture, interiors, urban design, and masterplanning across Georgia and the wider Caucasus region.
By combining international design expertise with local knowledge, Wei Yap Architects helps clients realise projects that are commercially successful, culturally relevant, and resilient over the long term. The practice brings together design excellence, technical rigour, and a strong understanding of local planning, regulatory, and delivery frameworks to create projects that maximise value while mitigating risk.

With over 25 years of international experience across Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and the Caucasus, Wei Yap has led the design and delivery of award-winning architecture, urban design, and development projects through senior directorship roles at some of the world’s most respected architectural practices.

He has worked across diverse markets, regulatory environments, and development models, and brings a deep understanding of how successful projects are conceived, procured, managed, and delivered.

Beyond practice, Wei Yap has been an educator since 2003 at leading Australian universities and has mentored a generation of emerging architects and designers across Australia and Singapore. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Western Sydney University, Australia.

Wei Yap is a registered architect in Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, and currently serves as Chair of the International Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects, representing Australian architects working across global markets. Through these roles, he remains actively engaged with international industry leaders, institutions, developers, and design practices worldwide.
