Changi Airport Hotel

The Changi Airport Hotel is conceived as a gateway to Singapore’s Garden City, reflecting the nation’s commitment to sustainability, excellence and global connectivity. Inspired by Singapore’s diverse natural reserves, from wetlands and mangroves to rainforest ecosystems, the hotel brings these landscapes vertically into Changi through four stacked, immersive green terraces.

The design strategically leverages URA’s LUSH (Landscaping for Urban Spaces and High-Rises) programme, utilising eligible communal landscaped areas to accommodate key amenities, including the pool, gym, meeting spaces and reception. This transforms the hotel into a series of elevated ecosystems in which hospitality, landscape and biodiversity are closely intertwined.

By relocating amenities to these landscaped terraces, the scheme also maximises room-generating GFA, enabling approximately 15% more guestrooms than a conventional hotel model. More than a place between journeys, the hotel becomes a restorative landscape, offering travellers a curated experience of Singapore’s nature while creating a commercially efficient and distinctly Singaporean model of airport hospitality.

The project reframes the airport hotel as more than a place to sleep between journeys: it becomes a moment of retreat, orientation and anticipation within one of the world’s most connected aviation hubs.
